Meets
In the swimming world, a Meet is a swimming competition where a number of Events are organized into a group competition where multiple swimmers can participate. iSwimTimes can track multiple meets throughout a swimmers career.
Swimmers
A swimmer is an athlete that competitively swims in the swimming world.
iSwimTimes can track multiple swimmers progress in competition
In the swimming world and iSwimTimes, an Event is a race where swimmers participate with a set Distance, Stoke, and Course.
For example :
Distance:100
Stroke: Freestyle,
Course: Long Course
Meters
They are usually are multiple Events organized into a single Meet
Entries
In the swimming world, a swimmer participates in a meet be “Entering” into the Events of the Meet. These are called Entries.
These Entries are Official records of the swimmers competition in the Event and participation in the Meet.
A Swimmer’s Entry in iSwimTimes and in the Swimming world contains various information:
Name
Age
Seeded Entry Time
Rank
Heat/Lane
Relay Leg
Official Time
etc.

In iSwimTimes, as in the swimming world, Swimmers have Entries into multiple Events of a Meet.
Events
As a Meet progresses throughout the day, Entry information can change. For example a swimmer may not initially know their Heat and Lane of an entry into an Event.
The Final information usually updated in an Entry is the “Official Time”.
Swimmers Time
To many people an Entry with a final “Official Time” is just called a swimmer’s “Time”.

HINT: In iSwimTimes, Pink is a new Entry, Blue is an Entry with Heat and Lane Info, and Green is an entry with an Official Time.
To Better understand how to use iSwimTimes. It’s helpful to know how iSwimTimes is organized. iSwimTimes is basically set up to mirror how Meets are organized in the real world- utilizing Events and Entries. iSwimTimes is organized into 5 main areas :
Swimmers, Entries, Meets, & Standards
In the swimming world, a Time Standard is a set of times for particular Events that help a swimmer know how they are doing. These “times” are usually called “Cut Time”. USA Swimming has a number of different Cut times - B, BB, A, AAA, AAA, etc.
Tim Standards can be used as goals for swimmer to help increase Motivation.
iSwimTimes has the ability to have many Time Standards available in the app.
A swimmer is then assigned a Time Standard of which to compare their Official Entry Times, or Times, to.
